Ginny T. of Durham, North Carolina wrote to The Daily Corgi about Dash, her power chewing Pembroke.
“Dash is extremely sweet, cuddles every night after his evening stroll and loves every person and dog he meets. He’s a single dog now but started out playing second banana to his big brother (now at the Bridge), who taught him how to bark at sneezes and nose blowing. Dash is a quick leaner.”
“Here’s Dash as a puppy in his breeder’s arms. Because he’d never hold still, he’s a little blurry in most of his baby pictures! Note the big floppy ears. We had a hard time getting those to stand up.”
“The stare is his “I don’t like this, but I’m putting up with it” look. Who wants to hold still when there are other puppies to chase?”
“Dash with his ears freshly unfurled and standing. They looked like newly opened leaves.”
“At six months in his pen in the kitchen. His ears are now in place and he still has a lot of black, even on his hips.”
Dash loves visiting his Mom’s cousin in Ohio every year.
“Look at the cool cat bed I found in one of the bedrooms. Who knew I could fit in it?”
“I’m always ready for any snack. I don’t know the word “cookie” but I do know “treat”, which always gets the drool flowing.”
“That snow stuff was really good to eat and made a great frapping surface too!”
“After a romp in the snow, a fine nap in my own bed. No more cat beds for me!”
“Sitting on Daddy’s lap after our dinners. I like to hide my ears. Mom and Dad call it my bathing cap look.”
“My nightly visit on the sofa with Daddy gives me a chance to show off my tongue.”
“I’ve been caught many times with my favorite thing — a used sock. I’m so proud of my prize, but when I bring it to people they’re not as happy as I am about my favorite thing. I always check any shoes sitting on the floor just in case.”
“I’m not allowed into this part of Duke Gardens, so I just guard the entrance.”
“I like the gardens a lot. It’s fun to sit here and watch my Mom. Maybe she’ll ask me to do a trick for a treat.”
“I got to visit Mom’s cousin again this Summer. Their dog Bones wanted to step on me, but I know how to handle her! She’s part Lab and part Smooth Collie, but I am ALL Corgi!”
“After a long day of squirrel patrol, eating with gusto, training for flyball and agility, I really need my beauty rest on Daddy’s lap.”
