For as long as she could remember, Sandy B. had always wanted a Corgi.
“There is just something about those big happy smiles and short legs I couldn’t resist. As soon as it was possible, I set out to find the Corgi of my dreams.”
“Sadie was my first Corgi, and she immediately stole my heart like only Corgis can.”
“I brought her home when she was eight weeks old. Although I grew up around dogs, Sadie was the first puppy who was all mine. Some of her favorite things to do are bark at the neighbors, play ball with her Corgi brother Duncan, go to the beach, and take naps under the bed.”
“Sadie is a feisty Corgi who doesn’t warm up to strangers quickly, but once she does, she’ll love you to pieces. When we decided to get another Corgi, everyone insisted that as Queen of the House, Sadie wouldn’t approve. I knew she could use a friend, so we adopted Duncan when he was six months old. They hit it off immediately, and have since spent countless hours frapping and wresting together.”
“They adore each other. (I knew they would all along).”
“When we first got Duncan, he was a chunky monkey Corgi puppy. Now he’s a lean, mean, agility-doing machine. He’s the most relaxed, friendly Corgi ever. On our first trip to the beach together, I started to get worried when I couldn’t find him. It turned out Duncan joined another family and was posing in their photo, beaming his big Corgi smile.”
“That pretty much sums up his personality.”
“Duncan will play ball or Frisbee for as long as you’ll throw it, rain or shine.”
“He’ll snuggle with you even if it’s 100 degrees outside!”
“Duncan loves to chase the crows and cats out of our yard and will do just about anything for a hot dog. He LOVES his agility classes! He’s terrified of the vacuum and my blow dryer. He’ll try anything, including herding sheep! (He herds us everyday at home).”
“Abby’s story is my favorite. One night we were walking Sadie and Duncan. We always turn around at a certain spot, but for some reason we decided to walk all the way to the top of the hill. As fate would have it, a neighbor lady randomly came out of her house to get something out of her car and noticed our two Corgis. Being as Corgi crazy as I am, I struck up a conversation with her. It turned out she had just inherited her parent’s 11-year-old Corgi and was having some trouble with her. She asked us if we wanted another Corgi.”
“My husband later said this was like asking a “normal” person if they wanted a million dollars. Of course I wanted another Corgi — who wouldn’t?! Right then and there, she brought out Abby and I fell in love.”
“When I saw her, I knew right away Abby was supposed to be with our family. She had a wiggle butt and such a joyful spirit. That night we went up the hill with two Corgis and came down the hill with three. Truly one of my life’s breathtaking moments.”
“Abby’s favorite things include belly rubs, treats, raw hides, and rolling around in anything stinky. Even though she’s eleven, she acts much younger. Although she doesn’t join in with the ball playing or Frisbee chasing, Abby loves to have her fun. She’ll get sudden bursts of energy and run randomly through the house. To get her back into shape, we’d stand on opposite ends of the yard with treats. Abby will run (and I mean run) back and forth for those treats. I couldn’t imagine our family without her.”
“All three Corgis love to visit my grandpa Ed’s house where there is an endless supply of treats and ball playing. As much as they love grandpa, my grandpa adores them too!”
“Because of the Corgis, my days are filled with so much joy and laughter. No matter how bad the day, they are always there ready to play and show me what life is really about — unconditional love and fun.”
“I couldn’t imagine a life without Corgis.”

You three are adorable! I loved Abby's story…up the hill with two and down the hill with three. What a wonderful walk that was. Give your babies kisses from my corgi, Noodles.

I love Corgis, too. They're seriously expensive where I live.
I wish someone could give me one. You guys are pretty lucky. They're all sweethearts. And those eyes… so much love in them.
I'm glad Abby has found a great family.

Reading your story made me miss my Joe-Bob, a tricolor who died after swallowing a piece of nylabone. The vets couldn't find it as it doesn't show up on xray. It's been 4 years now. I miss his puff butt the most and how he got even with my shepherd by peeing on her horseball. Warm corgi thoughts to you!
