Excellent Post! My PWC, Shorty, does the same thing with his Tennis Ball in the yard. I gotta get him a bigger ball! He also is a Flyball Dog on the Texas Twisters Flyball Team. He has his FMX title (10K points) and is working on his FMX-Ch (15K points) title!

Our Corgi rolls his tennis ball down the driveway and waits until the neighborrhood kids walk by to throw it back to him.
As soon as he hears the kids get off the bus he finds his ball and runs to the top of the driveway to nudge it down.

Adopting an older Corgi makes teaching him the joys of chasing a ball definitely not as easy as starting with a younger run. Piper gets most of his activity when someone rings the doorbell and he barks and laps the living room several times at full out run until the door is opened. I confess I have done this just to make him get more exercise (but don't tell him).
