Presenting the story of Maximus as only Maximus could tell it (as dictated to Dallas H.)
Hey. Hey. Hey. So, I lived in this small town. Wait — is that a squirrel? Be right back …
OK, Dallas here. I’ll take over. Maximus was surrendered (the reason given was because he didn’t like horses) to the town vet who doubles at the local animal shelter. Since space was very limited, his time was also limited. A local young rescuer pulled him and contacted Corgi Connection of Kansas. Luckily, there was a foster home available and Maximus moved right in.
Hi, I’m back! So I moved into my foster home the day after my manhood was taken. Boo! My foster family walked me around the backyard with Cooper, my foster Corgi brother. I did great until I saw a squirrel outside the fence, slipped right underneath that chain link and went exploring. Woohoo, free again!
Maximus is a little escape Corgi. If given a small space, he will slip out of the fence. However, we have learned that he LOVES LOVES LOVES squeaky toys. These will get his attention and he’ll come running from a mile away to get it.
Did I hear a squeaky toy? Squeaky toy give me, give me, GIMMEEE!!
Although he acts like a puppy, we guesstimate his age at 2 – 3 years. He loves to play with his people. Maximus is on the larger end of a Corgi size (about 42 pounds and needs a few more to fill out completely), so smaller kiddos would not be good around him. He is also tall enough to put his paws on the countertops.
I just want to help you cook dinner. Can I lay down with you on the couch? Please please please!
Maximus can you please tell everyone what kind of family you are looking for?
I want a family.
Can you be more specific?
I want a family who will take time to teach me the basic manners that they say I lack. They need to want to play with me; I love to play. I guess I need a secure fence so I don’t get out and run away. I would probably do the best as an only furkid (I can be a butt head when it comes to sharing toys) and I want ALL of the attention. I’m a good boy and don’t potty in my kennel or the house.
If you are interested in loving me, email Jeanette with Corgi Connection of Kansas at jeanette@corgiconnection.com. Oh, and be sure to mention me by name, Maximus.
Now tell me … did I entertain you?
