Of all the college graduation gifts a person could receive, a warm and wiggly Corgi puppy has to be right up there near the top of the list.
Katie W. and her hubby found these two at a horse show in 2008. “My search was over” she writes. “Wiley and Daphne were the only two left. We fell in love.”
Inevitably Katie’s stepdaughter fell in love with Wiley, who was her graduation gift. (Lucky lass!)
Alas, resident Pembroke Winchester wasn’t amused at finding himself one of three Corgis under the same roof.
“Wiley and Daphne looked so much alike we had to buy a blue and a pink collar to know who was who! It was hysterical” Katie laughs. “So much fun.”
“As Wiley’s Mom was finding her way in the world
after graduating from college, he spent a few years with us and she
visited frequently from her “no dogs allowed” apartment in New York City. During
that time Winchester passed away, and soon after that Wiley and his Mom moved to Atlanta.”
“It was very difficult separating Wiley and Daphne, and as a result, we knew Daphne
needed a buddy.”

“That’s when we adopted a rescue Lab named Duke from our local
shelter. Order has been restored in our home — and Duke knows who’s in charge — but we miss our Winchester a lot. We try to visit Wiley and his Mom in Atlanta as often as we can.”

“These dogs are the light of our lives!”

Ah, nice story. A home with revolving doors to accommodate life's changes.
