Happy 4th Birthday, Dexter Jaymz!

Good afternoon, Corgi Nation-ites! This is Paige Davis, Founder & CEO of CorgiPals, Inc., stealing a bit of space here on The Daily Corgi to give a very special shout-out to a very special guy. You see, today my baby boy Dexter Jaymz turns 4!!

Dexter has helped me through a lot in four years. Bad breakups, lost jobs, failing in school, switching majors, being broke, and my dad’s suicide two months ago. I can honestly say that I would not have made it through any of that without him. He is my rock and my best friend.

It was back in April of 2010 that I first laid eyes on the adorable little puppy that I would soon call my own. He was just 6 weeks old, and already a handful.

He came home with me in May, and became very attached to me very quickly. We’ve been inseparable ever since. He follows me everywhere, and we do everything together. 

I’ll never forget the first time I left for work and he was too little to follow me down the stairs. That little face, begging me to come back to him…

He started to grow up so fast…

…and soon he was a big boy.

He even graduated from obedience school at the top of his class.

He saw snow for the first time, and we played in it all day!

And we even played at the park after we moved into our townhouse when Phil and I started dating.

When we got Violet, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But Dexter has been a great big brother!

They’ve seen Santa together…

…and dressed up for Halloween together!

They’ve also been there for me during the tough times, like when I lost CorgiPals clients like Baxter Valentine…

…when I’m sick….

…and when I lost my dad to suicide in January.

It’s not always bad times. We often get silly together, too. :p

Oh, and he’s a killer dancer.

He’s the best dog a girl could ask for. He’s my Dexter Jaymz. Happy Birthday, buddy!
