I’ve just come from the amazing BlogPaws ACES Workshop, a condensed version of the three-day session created by Mike Arms of the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego.
There is only one word for someone like Mike: HERO.
This incredible (and modest) man is credited with saving the lives of more orphaned animals than anyone else on the history of the planet. Mike says one day he wants to be “President of the Animals”.
I’d say he’s on his way!
Click HERE to read about the things he’s accomplished in just over a decade at the Center, including The Children’s Education Center, The Pet Encounter Therapy programs, and ACES (Animal Center Education Services), the groundbreaking free, three day seminar offered at no cost to animal welfare professionals and advocates.
After listening to Mike Arms, I know this for sure: the best is yet to come, if we believe in our vision and work to make it real.

p.s. Met some sweet ferrets today. Ferret folks are gloriously in love with ferrets … they remind me a little of Corgi folk!
