Jeff and Heather Reeves of central Illinois wrote in about their delightful “wheelCorgi” Cady. She’s a charmer for sure!
“Cady is our 12 year-old female Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a heart of gold and the back legs of a weeping willow.
She was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy 14 months ago, and utilizes a K9 West cart and Tammy and Teddy’s walking shoes to help with mobility. This disease has taken away quick corners and stairs, but hasn’t stopped her from going for neighborhood walks or chasing her tennis balls.
She loves to snuggle and will still try to impress you with paw shakes for treats.

Prior to April 14, 2014, we knew nothing of this disease. We’ve tried very hard since that date to create a “new normal” for Cady.
Gotcha Day!
We are thankful to the WheelCorgis group for taking our hand upon Cady’s diagnosis and leading us to think outside the box to make Cady’s life great, despite DM. This group has allowed us to admit our fears, discuss tough issues honestly, and celebrate milestones with others who are walking the same path.
Cady has taught us that life may throw you one heck of a curve ball, but her willingness to adapt has been amazing, and all she asks for in return is to be loved forever. Oh, and maybe a couple of milk bones.
She is a true blessing and we cherish every day with her!”

Cady Corgi is a mainstay of the wheelcorgis Yahoo group, with her beautiful smile! It's nice to be able to put faces to her humans' names. Thanks for the post!
Peggy and angel Gillie, once the face of DM on The Daily Corgi — look her up!
